The Summer Party is definitely my favourite event at Little Angel. It’s bright, colourful, full of adventure and excitement and it’s open to absolutely everyone!
It’s my third year organising the party and this year’s Roald Dahl theme has made the planning of it more exciting than ever. Our first brainstorming meeting about Roald Dahl was so jam-packed with amazing creative ideas we could have held an entire week of events! Instead, we decided to focus on three main stories, Fantastic Mr Fox (as a celebration of the show opening in a week’s time), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (it’s the 50th anniversary of the story this year and we have a cake stall teaming with sweet treats you can buy) and the BFG (because he’s big, brilliant and he’s hiding somewhere in our gardens!).
We organise this event as a way of saying a huge thank you to everyone who supports the theatre year in year out. We want families to have a chance to get together for a day, get their faces painted, make some puppets and see performances without having to worry about booking or buying tickets. There’s only three days to go, and I really can’t wait! AND it looks like the sun might be shining…fingers crossed!
Our Summer Party is on Sunday 7th September from 1pm until 5pm. It’s absolutely free and everybody is welcome!
